I've had that Mere Orthodoxy piece saved to read this week! Have heard others voice similar concerns and cautions, so I'm impressed one of those takes got published.
This is the first time I've heard this kind of critique about it but it makes sense - individualism really IS in everything! Of course there's a way to spiritualize your own life and routines that ends up being more self-focused. A good warning sign was probably when an entire industry popped up to sell resources/guides.
Yes - and I also have so many more thoughts after reading all the comments under it! haha Which provide some helpful pushback and clarification. Perhaps many things can be true at once.
I was wondering what the comments were like haha. I'm not a subscriber so I can't see them. I suppose it's like any other tool in life: good if used to steward well, unwise if used selfishly or as a way to put a spiritual sheen on an ungodly thing.
